Arbroath is a fishing port on the east coast of Scotland and is probably better known for it's (World Class) fish and chips than it's (obscure) football team. The team are known as the "red lichties" (a Scot's dialect pronunciation of "red lights") which I assume has some sort of nautical connotation as the team don't actually play in red. This shirt is a bit of a collectors item as it was only used by the club for two months before a very irregular mid season switch of manufacturer to Pendle. I don't know why this was but have to say that examination of the shirt shows it to be something of a throwback with it's printed badgework etc. That being said a diagonal stripe always makes a shirt look better.
