Barnsley generally have pretty standard red shirts but this one is a bit different for a couple of reasons. Firstly, it's fairly liberally applied white trim breaks the red up a bit and seems to work aesthetically with the sponsor logo. The second thing is that it's made by Koala! I have no idea who Koala are or how they ended up making kit for Barnsley. The kit is well made and the intricate badgework is well done as is the idiosyncratic Koala logo. The figures on the badge are a miner and a glassblower, both key industries of Barnsley's past. Despite the very traditional look the club badge is a relatively new adoption. Previous to the current badge the club used the white rose emblem of their native Yorkshire.
