By the time Dundee United wore this shirt their glory days of the 1980s were long gone and they had even spent a year in the second tier of Scottish football. it seems strange at this distance in time to think that in 1986 Dundee united beat the mighty Barcelona in both legs of a UEFA cup tie as "The Terrors" rampaged all the way to the final. Think about that for a second. Dundee United beat Barcelona. Twice. I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it myself. This shirt is, as i already mentioned, from a much later, less illustrious period in the club's history and is a standard template used by Olympic which works very well here in Dundee United's distinctive tangerine shirts and was a fittingly striking shirt for their 90th anniversary season.
