Estudiantes are one of Argentina's clubs that do well without really moving into the sphere of influence of more illustrious teams like River Plate and Boca Juniors. Since this fantastic centenary shirt was manufactured Estudiantes have won further titles which has added to the cache of stars around the pennant style badge. You don't need to be an expert in South American dialects of Spanish to know that Estudiantes translates into English as "Students". The team's nickname is the "Rat stabbers" which apparently relates to students activities dissecting rats in the lab. Credit is due to Penalty for their superb work on this shirt in terms of design and manufacture. This Argentinian shirt came tome from my friend Bira, a resident of Argentina's huge northern neighbour, Brazil.
