For a lot of people Ukrainian football extends as far as the big clubs from Kiev and Donetsk but there's a lot more to it than that. This excellent shirt is from Karpaty Lviv for instance. Karpaty are named after the Carpathian mountains which the city of Lviv. The shirt is patched up to be used in the Europa League and even has has the sleevebadges for UEFA's Respect campaigns. The name on the back is that of Ukrainian striker Yuriy Habovda who played a few games but never scored for the Karpaty first team before moving on. This shirt inexplicably came to me from Bira, a Sao Paulo resident which at the last check was nowhere near Ukraine.
