In order to screw a few more pounds out their fans some clubs have adopted home shirts which are only to be used in European competition. While I find the idea of this pretty cynical it does mean that Liverpool got this shirt from Reebok which represents Reebok's best work up until that point. The design is a very simple traditional Liverpool shirt with the twist of yellow badgework rather than white used for the standard home shirt. The shirt also features four stars, one for each of the European Cups won by Liverpool up until that point. This shirt was in fact vastly superior in all ways to the shirt which Liverpool were using for domestic matches during this period. A huge thank you goes to Paul Telfer who, in an act of insane generosity, gave me all of his Liverpool shirts!
