The 2006 World Cup was a big one for Puma who had many countries sporting the German manufacturer's kit. Puma had come up with this really interesting template which was differentiated not only by the colours but also by the hazily printed chest motif which is almost like a watermark. The Saudi's chose the palm tree motif from the badge which is fair enough given the options. Crossed swords? An oil well? They probably don't convey the right image. Sadly for the Saudis this really nice shirt didn't serve them well as a mere point from a draw with Tunisia was all that the team had to show from the 2006 campaign. This shirt was sent to me by Canadian collector Eric who is a national jersey specialist.
