TEAM Southampton SEASON(S) 2001
HOME/AWAY Home COUNTRY England
MANUFACTURER SFC

Southampton were for many years hardy top flight perennials in the English top flight and this shirt dates from arguably their high point in league terms. The shirt, in the club's traditional red and white stripes was part of Southampton's comparatively long lived self manufactured shirt experiment and it's decent enough although showing it's age. The shirt carries the name and number of James Beattie who scored a lot of goals and is arguably the best player Southampton had, post Matt Le Tissier. Beattie scored many goals for Southampton when he could stay fit but never found the same form for Everton, Stoke City or Glasgow Rangers although he did well for Sheffield United in the second tier of the English league.
