This is a very rare shirt as it is the only time in my lifetime that the might St Mirren didn't have a home shirt with stripes of any description. In fact with the exception of a sort of black white Ajax style shirt in the early 1970s and white shirts in the 1960s (with black and white striped shorts!) St Mirren played in striped for well over 100 years so kit like this is very unusual. Core didn't do many other shirts which is a pity as this one was good even if the collar could have done with a bit of work. This shirt also saw the first appearance of the alternative logo of a stylised footballing figure on the sleeve made up of shaped of a "Paisley Pattern" which is a nod back to Paisley's heritage as a weaving and mill town.
