Willem II are probably the only club in the museum which are named after a King. I'm not really sure why as King Willem II died 56 years before the club were formed and had served with the Dutch military in Tilburg a mere 66 years before the club's foundation. I'm by no means an expert on Dutch culture but it seemed a bit random to me. In a further example of Dutch patriotism the colours are based on those of the national flag. The shirt is a very well made Umbro job. I'm especially impressed by the design as Umbro have managed to avoid it looking like a tacky deck chair. It's quite a simple shirt and looks quite clean and crisp.
