Right, somebody tell me what the Dutch have about naming football clubs after Greek mythical heroes. Ajax, Herakles and now Achilles are all represented at various levels of Dutch football. Even Greece doesn't seem to have as many themed club names as the Netherlands. I'll need to check the rest of the Dutch leagues to make sure there's not teams named after Odysseus or Perseus. Achilles '29 are from the town of Groesbeek in the eastern part of the country and play at the top level of Dutch amateur football. The badge is a nicely stylised Corinthian helmet synonymous with Greek history and legend and it's a nice touch to see the badge worked into the shirt's numbering. All in all a basic but very interesting shirt.
